The Maroon Bell’s and Conundrum Hot Springs

The stone sits on top of the mountain, proudly enjoying perfection. It’s state is ephemeral, its resting place impermanent. The inevitable kick from a goat, or the lightest slide of foot from a hiker sends it plummeting downward.  Whistling through the air and tumbling through gullies of the similar fated, it crashes in a pile of memories and pain. 

Finally, it lands among friends.
